Our Story
Iho Nyx (Ήχο Νυξ) was formed in 2008 by Adoni Petrandonakis and Angelo Goutzios. Initially specialising in Cretan music, the band now covers a broad spectrum of Greek music including Entehna, Contemporary Greek and traditional music from the Islands and Mainland Greece and even English.
Iho Nyx are currently one of Sydney & Australia's most recognised bands available to be booked for weddings, christenings, birthdays, corporate and other community events.
The band performs at events all over Australia, New Zealand and in Greece. The group is often accompanied by Greek-Australian musicians as well as performers from Greece.
Performances have included a concert at the Factory Theatre with Manos Pyrovolakis, the City recital hall with Vasilis Lekkas and as the support band for artists such as Stelios Dionisiou, Stathis Angelopoulos, and opening shows for Mihalis Xatzigiannis and Glykeria.
The band is supported yearly by the "Greek Festival of Sydney", the "Greek Summer Festival Carss Park" & "Lets Go Greek Festival Parramatta" as well as performing shows at the Factory Theatre, the Enmore Theatre and Greek Fest in the Hunter in 2021.
We have also held many tribute concerts over the years, such as Yiannis Parios (2021), Pyx Lax (2019), Andonis Vardis (2017), Nikos Papazoglou (2016) and Nikos Xylouris (2014) all as part of the Greek Festival of Sydney.
